Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word (“The Quick Brown Fox”). Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence (“The quick brown fox. It jumps.”).

Does it handle Turkish i and ı correctly?

Yes. On the Turkish version of the site, i becomes İ and ı becomes I, and vice versa, as Turkish requires. Other languages follow their own rules too, for example German ß becomes SS in uppercase.

What does iNVERT case do?

It swaps the case of every letter: uppercase letters become lowercase and lowercase letters become uppercase. Handy when you accidentally typed with Caps Lock on.

Are proper nouns kept in Title Case and Sentence case?

The tool cannot know which words are names, so it lowercases the rest of each word or sentence. Check names and abbreviations before you use the result.
