What to Eat Wheel

"What do you want to eat?" "I don't mind." "You choose." Let the wheel break the loop. Pizza, burgers, sushi, curry and other favourites are already on it; add dishes you cook at home or places nearby, delete what you don't fancy and spin.

Shortcut: Space or Ctrl+Enter spins.

The winner is picked by your browser's secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues); the spin is just an animation. Names never leave your device, and we can't see or influence the result.

    Entries

Press Enter for a new line. Paste several lines and each becomes its own entry (up to 200). To weight an entry, add *number after it: "Alice*3" makes Alice's slice, and chance, three times bigger.

      Frequently asked questions

Can I replace the list with my own dishes?

Yes. Edit, delete or add lines. The list is saved in your browser automatically, so it's waiting for you next time you open the page.

Can I make my favourite more likely?

Yes, add a star and a number: "Pizza*2" doubles pizza's chance. Leave the once-a-week treats without a weight.

How do we use it with housemates or a partner?

Everyone adds two ideas, then the wheel decides. Send the list with "Share link" and everyone can spin the same options on their own phone.

Is it rigged? Is the result really random?

No, it isn't rigged. Before the wheel starts turning, the winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues); the wheel then simply animates towards that result. Without weights every entry has exactly the same chance, and neither we nor anyone else can decide the outcome in advance. It all runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. One honest caveat: whoever runs the page can edit the list or keep spinning until they like the result, so for public giveaways the most trustworthy approach is to share the list beforehand and livestream or screen-record the spin.
