YouTube Giveaway Picker

Run a YouTube giveaway in seconds: copy the comments under your video and paste them below. The tool pulls out the usernames, counts several comments from the same person as one entry, checks rules like "tag 2 friends" or "comment must contain #giveaway" and picks the winners with your browser's secure random number generator. You never log in to YouTube here and the comments are not sent anywhere. It also works as a simple name draw.

How to use YouTube Giveaway Picker

  1. On a computer (not the phone app), open the video on youtube.com in a browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The phone apps cannot select and copy all comments; a phone browser in "desktop site" mode sometimes can. Being logged in is fine: this tool never asks for your password.
  2. Load all the comments: scroll down to the comments, choose "Sort by" Newest or Top if you like, and keep scrolling until the loading circle stops and no new comments appear. Open "N replies" only if replies should count as entries. Videos with thousands of comments may need several rounds of scrolling.
  3. Select the comments: on YouTube Ctrl+A selects the whole page, so click just in front of the first @name, scroll down to the last comment, hold Shift and click right after its text. Then copy with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac). If the selection jumps to other parts of the page, start again from the first comment.
  4. Click the box on this page and paste with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac). The tool recognises YouTube usernames by itself and drops buttons, dates and like counts; it also detects the format on its own.
  5. Check the "Detected" line under the box: it shows how many comments and how many different people were found. Compare it with the comment count on YouTube; a smaller number is normal if replies were not opened or comments were deleted. If it shows 0 or far too few, the format was not recognised: copy a smaller part again or use the alternatives below.
  6. Set the rules: number of winners and runners-up, "One entry per person", the minimum number of tagged friends (@name) and, if you like, a word or #hashtag the comment must contain. Type your own account and partner accounts into "Accounts to exclude" so that they cannot win.
  7. Press "Draw winners". The winners are picked with your browser's secure random number generator and revealed one by one. Copy the result or download it as TXT or CSV; it includes the date and time.
  8. If copying does not work: type or paste one username per line and choose "One person per line", or paste a CSV file whose first column holds the usernames (from any comment export tool you trust).
  9. For proof, screen-record or livestream the draw. Nothing you paste leaves your browser. Follow the promotion and contest rules of YouTube; as the organiser you are responsible for them, and your local law may require permits for some giveaways.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to log in or give my YouTube password?

No. This tool never connects to YouTube and never asks for account details. You copy and paste the comments yourself; everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Be careful with giveaway sites that ask for your password.

Is the draw fair?

Yes. The winners are picked the moment you press "Draw winners", using the secure random number generator your browser uses for encryption (crypto.getRandomValues); the spinning names are only an animation. For trust, screen-record or livestream the draw and share the result with its date and time.

How many comments can it handle?

Up to 50,000 entries and about one million pasted characters per draw, which is enough for most giveaways. For a huge comment section, check the "Detected" number to make sure everything was included.

Why does it find fewer participants than the comment count on YouTube?

Usual reasons: replies were not opened, not all comments were loaded, comments were deleted or hidden, or "One entry per person" is on, so several comments from one person count once. The count shown by YouTube may also include replies. Load everything, copy again and compare.

Does it work on a phone?

The draw itself works on any device, but collecting the comments is much easier on a computer because the YouTube app does not let you select and copy all comments. In some phone browsers the "desktop site" option works; if the usernames and comments appear as text you can select, you can try.

I can't copy the comments. Is there another way?

Choose "One person per line" and type or paste the usernames one per line, or paste the contents of a CSV file with usernames in the first column. For a wheel, use Spin the Wheel.

Is this an official YouTube tool? What about the rules?

No. Textavi is not affiliated with YouTube or Google; this is an independent, free tool that draws from the text you paste. YouTube has its own promotion and contest guidelines and laws differ by country, so check them before you start. This is not legal advice.
